SAMANTHA A. LITTLE | CEO | @lark.and.hen

Miami native and homeschool graduate Samantha Little incorporated the educational nonprofit Lark Rise Inc. in March 2017 after years of dreaming and planning. When she's not directing and teaching, you might find Samantha cycling to the office where she works as executive assistant, rattling her hip scarf at the dance studio, or attending one of the many concerts in our beautiful city. Samantha is currently serving Lark Rise Inc. as CEO, LARK Program Director, and Editor in Chief of our member magazine Songbird.

DAISY V. LITTLE | Executive Secretary

educating mothers

Ivette Herzog lives in sunny South Florida where she and her husband are raising three active boys. Their desire is to lead them according to Romans 12:2—"to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of their mind, that they may prove what is that good and perfect will of God." At the end of her eldest son's kindergarten school year, she left the public school system. She first taught students in Special Education and then worked as a school psychologist; each meeting she held with parents left a longing for her to be meeting with her own children. Ivette and her husband knew that it was the Lord placing this desire in her heart, and she started homeschooling in 2013 but wasn't convinced that the Charlotte Mason approach would be the best fit for her boys.

Now, after being drawn to the principles that Ivette believes reflect God's design for our families, she not only strives to homeschool using Miss Mason's educational philosophy as a guide, she continues delighting in the feast of learning alongside her boys and fellow homeschool friends. A lover of good coffee, dark chocolate and the ocean, Ivette's reset for a frazzled day is snuggling on the couch reading aloud a living book.

ROZANA ZERPA | EM Social Media Director

Roxana Zerpa is a Christian woman, a wife, and a homeschooling mom of two boys. Aside from her family, Jesus, and coffee, she’s passionate about encouraging others—letting them know that they are loved, valued, and special.

Roxana believes wholeheartedly in Charlotte Mason’s philosophy and her first principle that “children are born persons”; this changed her life and lead her to homeschool her children.

Unsurprisingly, you can usually find Roxana at home, submerged in an enriching read, enjoying her boys, watching them grow, learning, and listening to worship music.

JACQUELINE SAGRE | EM Committee Member

Jacqueline Sagre is a homeschooling mother to three "born persons." A product of our local public school system, she always knew she wanted more for her own little ones. After graduating from collecge with a bachelor's degree in literature and secondary education, she assisted her husband in establishing his law practice until she was pregnant with their firstborn son.

She believes finding Charlotte Mason and embracing her principles in their home life has made all the difference. Education has become their lifestyle, not just what they do at predetermined times.

In her spare time, Jacqueline likes to read classic literature, bake with her children, and watch period dramas with her loving husband. Her family dreams of traveling extensively abroad before the children graduate from high school.

ANNA JONES | LARK Music Director

Anna Jones and her husband Luke are living with their four children and foster child in Miami, where they feel called to serve the inner city with their evangelistic ministry. She enjoys the blessings of homeschooling and learning alongside her children. She loves sewing, dancing, photography, cooking, playing piano, and writing songs.

Anna had singing and songwriting lessons as a young adult. She sang in the church choir many years before becoming a worship leader, a position she currently holds in her family’s home-based church.

Worship is a lifestyle that Anna is continually pursuing. Worship is a cure and hiding place for her. Worship is a tool she loves to use to serve and minister to others. Most of all, she enjoys the communal aspect and power of worship, as it binds brothers and sisters in Christ together and puts their focus on God, the One who deserves all praise.
